Åbygda (River village) is a small village community with a population of about 100 in the inner part of Bindal in Nordland fylke (region) just north of Nord - Trøndelag fylke (region). The main sources of income for those who live here are farming and timber. The village is like a Norway in miniature with a broad spectre of nature and scenary, coastal landscape, plains, hills and high mountain landscape with a huge number of very fine lakes and streams with lots of fish.

Åelva, the main river which also has given name to the village it runs through, is a sportsfishers dream come true. Some  sportsfishers have come back here for 30 - 40 seasons(!) in a row and they all swear that they'll come back here the next year and the next year and so on. Approximately 1200 - 1400 tourists visit the village every year. When the fishing season is over, it is possible to go hunting for small or big game in most parts of the village. Hunting season starts in the middle of September. It's also quite nice here during the winter, you can go hunting and skiing just about everywhere.

If you want a special, memorable and exclusive vacation, why not make it Norway and Åbygda (River village)? It'll be a holiday you'll never ever forget! We welcome you all!!
